Pacific Quay

Glasgow

A 203-unit residential development constructed on a brownfield site, comprising townhouses and apartment blocks ranging from 3 to 6 storeys.

DBA produced a Transport Statement to assess the transport implications of the proposed development, including vehicle trip generation, accessibility by sustainable travel modes, and parking requirements. The assessment considered the impact of the development on the surrounding transport network to support safe and efficient access for all users while promoting sustainable travel choices.

The presence of challenging ground conditions, including a buried quay wall, necessitated innovative foundation solutions. DBA was responsible for scoping extensive additional ground investigation works to address these complexities. The buildings required complex piled foundations, including Ischebeck piles through the buried quay wall.

The Civils Department led the design of site-wide levels and drainage, while the Structures Department provided structural design input and SER certification for all project stages.

Project Timescale: The project commenced in 2020 and was completed in 2023.
