STEM

During this time, we have attended a wide range of events locally in East Kilbride and further afield across the Central Belt of Scotland. These include careers fairs, enterprise initiatives, bespoke presentations and mock interview events.

In recent years, we have also worked closely with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), supporting regional STEM events such as the Step Into Future Jobs event at South Lanarkshire College and the EDT Awards held at Hamilton Council Headquarters.

Our STEM Ambassador, Ross, was honoured to be invited a couple of years ago to Edinburgh Castle by His Majesty’s Armed Forces to attend the Royal 21 Gun Salute, in recognition of the STEM ambassador work undertaken by DBA.

These activities expose pupils at various ages and stages to STEM subjects and the many pathways into STEM careers. As a direct result of our engagement, several apprentices have been recruited straight from the schools we have supported. DBA remains fully committed to investing time and resources into STEM ambassador work and will continue to support the next generation of talent.
