DBA’s Traffic and Transportation department provide a comprehensive service from large scale network models and economic appraisals to major urban and rural transportation assessments with experience in smaller scale access and junction studies.

The team of engineers have a varied project portfolio which covers major infrastructure to individual residential developments. Working closely with the other departments at DBA, the transportation engineers provide a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary service to our clients.

Our engineers have experience in transport planning studies, examples of these are many of the Scottish landmark commercial and residential developments. These developments include Braehead, Silverburn and Union Square Shopping Centres; and a variety of major residential masterplans, locations include, Glasgow Harbour, Heartlands, Greenlaw and the Scottish Power HQ.

South Ayrshire’s Adopted Local Plan (2008) identifies 2 strategic land releases north and south of Ayr for residential development. The Ayrshire Joint Structure Plan (2007-2025) identified land at Southeast Ayr for future expansion associated with these requirements.

Southeast Ayr is identified by South Ayrshire Council as a Strategic Expansion Site. The Council’s Local Development Plan identifies land at Southeast Ayr for the delivery of 750 homes within the 5 year period of the Local Plan

KIRKINTILLOCH LINK ROAD / WOODILEE MASTERPLAN

East Dunbartonshire Council’s Local Transport Strategy identifies the construction of the Kirkintilloch Link Road as a strategic infrastructure requirement for the redevelopment of land at Woodilee Hospital.

UNION SQUARE, ABERDEEN

DBA prepared a Transport Assessment of a mixed retail/leisure development comprising 48,000m2 GFA in Aberdeen City Centre, and a major expansion of the existing City Rail and Bus stations. Passenger and vehicular access to rail and bus stations was designed as well as the operational bus station layout.
