DBA were originally employed to provide the design and obtain the necessary construction consents for this development. Following on from the original commission, DBA were subsequently appointed as Contract Administrator for the project.
Dougall Baillie Associates was commissioned to provide the design and obtain the necessary construction consents for the Road Infrastructure required to access the 100 Acre Business Park and 2000 Unit Residential Development.
Dougall Baillie have significant experience in providing information relating to site facilitation works. Prior to projects commencing on-site we will liaise with local authorities to determine the most appropriate routes for deliveries to site, effective traffic management and pedestrian management.
DBA were employed by the Church Commissioners for England to assist in the delivery of this strategic residential and commercial development which is proposed to comprise approximately 1,000 houses, 40,000sq.m. of commercial unit, retail store and primary school.
South Ayrshire’s Adopted Local Plan (2008) identifies 2 strategic land releases north and south of Ayr for residential development. The Ayrshire Joint Structure Plan (2007-2025) identified land at Southeast Ayr for future expansion associated with these requirements.
Southeast Ayr is identified by South Ayrshire Council as a Strategic Expansion Site. The Council’s Local Development Plan identifies land at Southeast Ayr for the delivery of 750 homes within the 5 year period of the Local Plan
DBA’s Traffic & Transportation Department has been providing a comprehensive service ranging from large scale network modelling and economic appraisal, through major urban and rural Transportation Assessments, to smaller scale access and junction studies.
East Dunbartonshire Council’s Local Transport Strategy identifies the construction of the Kirkintilloch Link Road as a strategic infrastructure requirement for the redevelopment of land at Woodilee Hospital.
DBA prepared a Transport Assessment of a mixed retail/leisure development comprising 48,000m2 GFA in Aberdeen City Centre, and a major expansion of the existing City Rail and Bus stations. Passenger and vehicular access to rail and bus stations was designed as well as the operational bus station layout.
In addition to the two storey housing portion of the residential sector DBA have also extensively worked in the multi-storey sector. Including projects varying from 3 storeys up to 7 storeys. In many cases this has involved designing and detailing complex foundation solutions.
DBA carried out a comprehensive Flood Risk Assessment and Surface Water Management Scheme for this strategic infrastructure project. The project was undertaken in close consultation with Renfrewshire Council, SEPA, Transport Scotland and BAA (Glasgow Airport).
DBA have experience of the design process and detailing involved in the diversion of burns and natural watercourses in line with the requirements of Statutory Bodies such as Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH); Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT); SEPA and various Local Authorities.
From the 1st April 2006 The Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 (CAR), made it an offence for construction sites, discharging to the water environment, to operate without a Sustainable Urban Drainage System or equivalent treatment system.
DBA were appointed as water management consultants for this flagship residential project in 2003 and have been providing our services since then ranging from master-planning feasibility through to detailed design and site supervision and monitoring.
