Summary:
South Ayrshire’s Adopted Local Plan (2008) identifies 2 strategic land releases north and south of Ayr for residential development. The Ayrshire Joint Structure Plan (2007-2025) identified land at Southeast Ayr for future expansion associated with these requirements.
DBA have undertaken extensive transportation studies in consultation with Transport Scotland and South Ayrshire Council, considering the local and strategic transportation issues relevant to delivering the development area.
DBA have prepared a major Transportation Assessment for the development masterplan, considering the sustainability and integration of transport solutions and roads infrastructure on both the local and Trunk road networks.
DBA also prepared the A77 Corridor Study, involving the micro-simulation of infrastructure options for input to the Council’s assessment in accordance with STAG (Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance).
